On the 20th May 1747 James Lind began his trials into the cause of scurvy. Lind’s trial is recognised as one of the first clinical experiments in the history of medicine.
Every year on the 20th May we pause to commemorate the work of James Lind and the countless other researchers that work to find the answer to important clinical questions. On this day, we also salute the volunteers who participate in clinical trials, without whom none of our research would be possible.
This year International Clinical Trials Day is celebrated on Friday 19th May 2017. The Clinical Trials Unit at Hollywood Private Hospital will have an information booth on clinical trials for physicians and patients in the main hospital corridor. Affinity and other independent research organisation located at the hospital will be in attendance. Come along and see what research is happening in our local community.
